Peter Neibert

Dr. Peter J. Neibert received his Ph.D in Higher Education from the University of Idaho in 2004. He received a Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from Western Michigan University in 1997 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education/Athletic Training from Idaho State University in 1996. Dr. Neibert has over 23 years of experience in the field of athletic training. He has worked in several athletic training work settings including; secondary schools, universities and sports medicine clinics. Dr. Neibert spent the first 6 years of his academic career at Xavier University in Cincinnati Ohio, were he served as a Professor and Clinical education coordinator for the CAATE accredited AT program. While at Xavier he assisted with the reaccreditation of the undergraduate AT program. The next 9 years he served as an Associate Professor/ Chair of the Division of Athletic Training at the University of Northern Iowa, in Cedar Falls, IA. While Chair of the Division of AT, he led the development of the Professional Masters of Athletic Training program and led it through CAATE accreditation. He has now brought that 23 years of experience to Dixie State University to create a premier Professional Masters of Athletic Training program at DSU. Dr. Neibert is excited to accept the first cohort of students into the MAT program Summer 2020. The MAT program is housed in the new Human Performance Center, where amongst other labs includes a 1300 sq/ft Athletic Training Laboratory. Dr. Neibert teaches Therapeutic Interventions I & II, Therapeutic Interventions Clinical Skills I & II, Acute Care in AT, Acute Care Clinical Skills, Mental Health in Athletic Training, General Medical Condition in AT and Surgical Interventions in AT. Dr. Neibert is happily married to Camille Neibert and has three beautiful children (Madilin, Maegan and Stockton).
