Carolyn Lewis

Dr. Carolyn Cohen Lewis is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Utah Tech University, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses including Contemporary Nursing, Transcultural Nursing, Nursing Leadership, Clinical Simulation, and Information Management & Healthcare Technology. She holds a Ph.D. in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Science in Nursing Education from the University of Phoenix. She is a Certified Nurse Educator through the National League for Nursing.

Dr. Lewis’s scholarly interests include NCLEX testing and student success, active and applied learning strategies, psychometrics and test development, simulation-based learning, faculty development, curriculum design, and health care disparities. She has presented nationally on clinical judgment assessment and innovative teaching methodologies, and she contributes to advancing nursing education through programmatic accreditation and curriculum leadership.

Her professional career spans diverse clinical areas, including medical-surgical nursing, neuro/stroke care, oncology, postpartum, hospice, and community health. She has taught at multiple levels of nursing education, from CNA and LPN programs to BSN, MSN, and DNP courses.

Motivated by a lifelong commitment to caring and student-centered learning, Dr. Lewis strives to prepare future nurses with the critical judgment, compassion, and leadership skills necessary to thrive in today’s complex health care environment.
