Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare professionals trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality CPR, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. It is the foundation for saving lives after cardiac arrest.
HeartCode BLS is the American Heart Association’s blended learning delivery method for the BLS Course. Blended learning is a combination of eLearning (online portion), in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on skills session.
Here’s how to sign up for UT’s Emergency Medical Services program BLS for Healthcare Professionals Course Certification.
Please Note:
- This is a three-step process. You must complete the HeartCode BLS online course (Step 1) before you can schedule your hands-on session (Step 3).
- This certification is open to everyone! You do not need to be a UT student to sign up.
