
Kym Brusseau serves as the CNA Assistant Director and Instructor of Practice in Nursing at Utah Tech University, where she teaches in both the Nursing Assistant Program (didactic and clinical) and the LPN Bridge Program. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing.
Kym is deeply committed to community service, dedicating much of her time to supporting homeless, underserved, and at-risk populations. She has volunteered extensively with the Mental Health Association of Southern California, a non-profit multiservice center focused on homeless outreach and behavioral health support. Her dedication to this cause continues to shape her efforts within the state of Utah.
Throughout her nursing career, Kym has gained broad clinical experience across Medical-Surgical, Geriatrics, Adult Behavioral Health, and Emergency Psychiatry settings. She has taught at multiple levels of nursing education, including CNA, LPN, and RN-BSN programs, with specialized expertise in Psychiatric and Behavioral Health nursing education.
As an educator, Kym emphasizes the importance of compassionate, community-centered care and strives to cultivate a culture of service among her students. She believes nursing assistants and nurses play a vital role in promoting health, dignity, and quality of life within their communities. By encouraging students to engage in meaningful service, she fosters empathy, social responsibility, and professionalism that extend beyond the classroom and clinical environment.
