About

The long term care emphasis in Population Health prepares individuals to become executives in organizations that provide services and support to an aging population.  The Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that the average annual wage is approximately $99,730 per year with job growth from 2018 till 2028 exceeding 18%, which is much faster than average.

This degree is an excellent addition for aspiring leaders.  As career opportunities in long term care continue to grow, there is a greater demand than ever for individuals with leadership training and education within the industry.  As you advance your education and experience, the long term care program will help prepare you for many roles in long term care such as Executive Director, Chief Financial Officer, Nursing Home Administrator, Director of Information & Technology, Accounting Manager, Home Health Manager, and Business Office Manager.  Additional training as a clinician can expand job opportunities as a Dietician, Director of Social Services, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Director of Nursing, and MDS Coordinator.
