Dr. Cynthia Reber teaches in the P-BSN, MSN, and RN-BSN degree tracks, serving as Director of the UT RN-BSN Program.
Cynthia has been an RN for over 30 years. She taught professional education in a variety of health care settings for 15 years and has worked in higher education since 2016. Her patient care experience is primarily critical care, a content area in which she continues to teach. She earned her BA from Vanderbilt, RN from College of the Desert, MSN from the University of Phoenix, and PhD in Nursing Education and Administration from William Carey University.
Dr. Reber is a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) with the National League of Nursing and maintains a Critical Care Registered Nurse- Knowledge credential (CCRN-K) from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). Other professional associations include Sigma Theta Tau, the ANA, and the Western Institute of Nursing (WIN) research organization where she serves as an active member.
Dr. Reber’s area of original nursing research focused on vaping and the use of simulation to teach soft skills such as health care counseling to nursing students. She embraces a social constructivist approach to learning in which faculty and students work together to build knowledge.
