As a tenured professor of nursing with more than four decades of experience in both corporate and academic settings, I’ve dedicated my life to nurturing potential—in patients, students, colleagues, and my own family. I am honored to serve as the new Director of the Honors Program at Utah Tech University, where I’ve proudly taught since 2015 and will continue to teach half-time in the College of Health Sciences, Nursing Department.
The Honors Program is a space where curiosity is celebrated, where academic rigor meets creativity, and where students are empowered to think deeply, lead boldly, and serve compassionately. I believe in the transformative power of education—something I’ve seen firsthand in my own journey from an associate degree to a Ph.D., and in the lives of the many students I’ve taught and mentored.
As a mother of nine and grandmother of ten, I’ve learned that every person carries a unique story, and it’s our job as educators to help students write theirs with purpose, excellence, and passion. In leading the Honors Program, I hope to foster a culture of interdisciplinary thinking, lifelong learning, and community engagement.
When I’m not in the classroom (either Honors or Nursing) or collaborating with students, you’ll find me playing the piano or harp, reading a good book, crocheting a gift, or giving back to our local community. I believe deeply in service and in building relationships that lift and inspire—and I look forward to working closely with our exceptional students to create meaningful opportunities for growth, impact, and innovation.
