Pre-Admission Test Results
HESI Score is valid for one year prior to application deadline date (Fall-4th Monday of September, Spring – Last Friday of April)
- Only the HESI A2 Exam is accepted
- Test is open year-round at UT Professional Testing Center
- Out of Area? Request a Proctor at other Institution or contact UT Testing (RECOMMENDED)
- If you still cannot find a local testing center, at-home proctoring is available. Prepare equipment for at home proctored HESI A-2 exam.

- Instructions before Testing
- No substitutions (TEAS, Kaplan, other exams are not accepted)
- Recommended HESI Score for each section is 75
- Testing remediation and subsequent retesting before application submission is highly recommended on any section scored under 75
- Any section below 70 points will disqualify your nursing application.
- Test Retakes
- No limit on testing retakes per application cycle
- Wait 30-45 days in between testing sessions, if possible
- You must retake the entire HESI A2 exam even if you only scored low in one section.
- The test with the highest set of scores will be added to your application for review not the highest subject score from each test.

- Nursing Application fee is $50, it will be paid through your online application portal.
Application Completion, Review & Notification
- Completion
- Students are responsible for the completion and timely submission of their application file.
- Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
- Late applications are not accepted.
- Review
- Applications are carefully reviewed by the Admissions Committee on the basis of academic qualifications, personal attributes, and potential to succeed in the program.
- The Nursing Department adheres to Utah Tech University’s policy of nondiscrimination and equal opportunity in admission decisions.
- Notification
- Application status is sent via Dmail according to the dates listed in the below timelines.
- Final admission of each candidate is contingent on the successful completion of the required prerequisite courses with a grade of C or higher and all program requirements.
- Students who are denied admission are responsible for submitting a new application each admission cycle and are reviewed as a member of the current applicant pool.

For acceptance for Fall 2023 cohort due dates are as follows:
- January 2nd
- Application opens for Fall 2023 cohort
- April 17th
- Applications due by 11:59 pm
- May 17th
- Email notifications sent to applicant by 6 pm on this date
- May 24th
- Due: Signed Acceptance Agreement by 11:59 pm
- July 15th
- Due: All health requirements (flu vaccination completed after Aug 31st), CPR/BLS card & CNA certification
- August 15th
- Due: Grades for all prerequisite courses not submitted with application
- August 17th
- Mandatory Student Orientation 8 am – 1 pm
- October 15th
- Due: Seasonal Flu Vaccination (completed after August 31st)
Spring 2024 Cohort
For acceptance in the Spring 2024 cohort due dates are as follows:
- June 5th
- Application opens for Spring 2024 cohort
- September 25th
- Applications due by 11:59 pm
- October 16th
- Email notifications sent to applicants by 6:00 pm on this date
- No phone calls will be taken from students checking on admission status
- October 23rd
- Due: Signed Acceptance Agreement by 11:59 pm
- November 30th
- Due: All health requirements (seasonal flu vaccine due after start of the 1st semester), CPR/BLS card & CNA certification
- January 2nd
- Due: Grades for all prerequisite courses not submitted with application
- January 4th
- Mandatory Student Orientation 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
