Medical Radiography Program

WELCOME TO THE Medical Radiography Program AT UTAH TECH UNIVERSITY!

Medical radiographers or radiologic technologists are medical personnel who perform diagnostic imaging examinations and administer radiation therapy treatments. Medical radiographers practice in hospitals, clinics and physician’s offices, and in many clinical specialties, from prenatal care to orthopedics. They are educated in anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety and patient care.

Due to the unique structure and accreditation of each radiography program, the Medical Radiography Program at Utah Tech University does not accept transfer students from other medical radiography programs.

OUR MISSION

The Medical Radiography Program is dedicated to providing a comprehensive and high-quality educational experience that prepares students with the knowledge, skills, and professional values necessary to excel in the field of radiography and contribute as valuable members of the healthcare team.

GOALS & PROGRAM STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

Goal 1.  Students will develop competence in clinical performance.

• • PLO 1. Produce quality diagnostic images for routine radiographic exams.

Goal 2.  Students will demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Goal 3.  Students will practice professional and ethical conduct.

Goal 5. The program will provide the community with a skilled entry-level radiologic technology graduate.

The program’s philosophy is that cultivating professional, competent, and compassionate medical radiographers requires a high-quality education built on technical expertise, critical thinking, and a strong commitment to ethical and responsible behavior.
